About The Author J R Philp

J R Philp is the author and creator of The Best of Books, an ever-growing collection of children’s stories that celebrate the joy, imagination, and wonder of childhood. Every title is filled with smiles, color, and simple truths that children love to read and share; stories that remind families of what really matters: kindness, laughter, and love.

With a lifelong passion for helping others, J R brings a unique blend of heart and wisdom to his writing. His background in Human Resources gave him years of experience in understanding people; how they think, how they learn, and what lifts them up. Those same skills now shape his approach to storytelling: clear, genuine, and always encouraging.

J R believes children learn best when they feel loved and seen. His books speak to that belief; blending humor, warmth, and gentle lessons that reach kids right where they are, while offering grown-ups a few smiles of recognition too.

He makes his home in Naples, Florida, and often travels to California to visit his grandchildren — his first readers and biggest fans. They are the lucky ones who get to see new books before anyone else, and they’ve helped inspire many of his favorite moments in the series.

To them, he’s just “Pop Pop”,  the one who writes “the fun books.”
To everyone else, he’s a storyteller who still believes the world is full of good; and that every child deserves to see it that way.
